The blaze that started on May 2nd is surprisingly one of almost 700 wildfires this year alone. This fire is very large at a 44-square-mile blaze located at the western end of the Santa Monica Mountains. Authorities have dispersed 2,000 fire personnel, 247 engines, 11 helicopters, six air tankers and
other equipment to battle the fire that started
Thursday about 50 miles northwest of Los Angeles. Throughout there diligent efforts and time they have contained nearly 60% of the spreading fires. According to one report this fire has burned 28,000 acres and damages will cost around $8 million dollars. The cause of this fire is still being investigated.
